Bored of just drinking beer and wine? Why not expand your drinking horizons and try out a few cocktails?
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different cocktails to try out and learn. Many are easy to make and require and special equipment, the only thing you may wish to invest in is a cocktail shaker - these are inexpensive and can be bought at most liquor/drink stores. Try some of these out and impress your friends with your knowledge!
Alaska
·2 ounces gin
·1/2 ounce chartreuse
·dash orange bitters
Stir ingredients with cracked ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
Aviation
·2 ounces Gin
·1/2 ounce Maraschino Liqueur
·1/4 ounce Lemon Juice
Shake with cracked ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Bacardi Cocktail
·1 1/2 ounces Light Bacardi rum
·3/4 ounce Lemon or lime juice
·2 dashes Grenadine syrup
Shake with cracked ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Black Russian
·7/10 Vodka
·3/10 Coffee liqueur (Kahlua)
Pour over ice into an old fashioned glass
Bloody Mary
·1 1/2 ounces vodka
·3 ounces tomato juice
·1/2 ounce lemon juice
·7 drops Worcestershire sauce
·3 drops Tabasco sauce
·1 pinch freshly ground pepper
·1 pinch of celery salt
·1/4 teaspoon Freshly grated horseradish
Stir with ice; pour into old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with pickled asparagus sprig or slice of celery.
Champagne Cocktail
·6 ounces chilled Champagne
·1 cube sugar
·Angostura Bitters
Soak sugar cube with Angostura bitters. Place the cube in the bottom of a champagne flute. Fill with champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.
